Try to practice loving-kindness and develop metta even towards those that oppress others. We most often loathe in others those dark corners of ourselves which we see reflected in them. In the end you may not change them, but you will develop compassion for the tormentor as well as the tormented and realize that they are both. When we do that, we come closer to seeing and embracing all of who we are as well.
